Overview

Opendoor makes it easier to sell your house and buy your next home all online.

At the time of drumming up this idea, United States homebuyers were submitting 2.8 offers on average before getting one accepted. The market was extremely competitive, and Opendoor could increase buyers’ chances of winning the home of their dreams with the power of our cash.

To capitalize on what was going on in the country, Opendoor wanted to reframe its home buying web page to centralize around its core differentiator — cash-backed offers.

Objectives

We aimed to differentiate Opendoor’s buying services from the traditional process by driving awareness and comprehension of Opendoor’s cash offers program.

Cash-backed offers allow buyers to present the certainty of an all-cash off to a seller, without having to figure out financing, appraisal, and home sale contingencies — even if they need a home loan.

We measured the success of this iteration by the change in the landing page’s click-through rate.

Implementation

When working on the content for this web page, I was inspired by the novelty of this idea and wanted to convey cash-backed offers as a brand-new way of buying a house.

In addition, I aimed to keep the content straightforward and concise to aid the rushed buyer’s mentality and ease their understandability.

Results

The revised web page increased click-throughs by 14%
